In order to meet the needs of University departments to acquire certain
scientific, administrative support and research equipment, the Colorado
State University Research Foundation (CSURF) Equipment Leasing Program
was developed in the late 1970's in conjunction with Colorado State
University (CSU). The program was expanded in 1988 to include another
school governed by the Board of Governors of the Colorado State University
System, Colorado State University - Pueblo. The program has been very
successful since its inception, supplying millions of dollars of much
needed equipment to the Universities.
The Equipment Leasing Program is administered by CSURF in cooperation
with the Vice President for Research at CSU, and the Vice President
for Finance and Planning at CSU - Pueblo.
The Leasing Program is designed to meet the needs of the Universities
faculty and staff in meeting their oftentimes desperate need for adequate
equipment. The need is almost always immediate but the ability to buy
a piece of equipment outright is usually impossible. Through the leasing
program, a department can acquire equipment and pay for it over a period
of years.
There are two lease options available: (I) the CSURF
Lease, and (II) the Municipal
Lease. The type of lease used is determined primarily by
the dollar amount of the requested lease/purchase.
